James Comer: Power, Privilege, and Political Theater

James Comer wants you to think he’s a crusader for truth. A no-nonsense, God-fearing Kentuckian holding corrupt elites accountable from his seat atop the House Oversight Committee.

But here’s the reality: James Comer isn’t investigating corruption. He’s part of it.

A Committee Chair Who Can't Chair a Meeting

Since taking over the House Oversight Committee, Comer’s performance has been less "watchdog" and more wannabe Fox News host with a gavel. His so-called investigations have turned into embarrassments, filled with half-baked accusations, missing evidence, and made-for-TV soundbites that fizzle under real scrutiny.

Instead of focusing on things that actually matter to Kentuckians, like healthcare access, rural infrastructure, or economic survival, Comer has wasted taxpayer time and money chasing political boogeymen. And when the heat’s on him? He dodges, deflects, or flat-out disappears.

This isn’t oversight. It’s overexposure, and not the kind we need.

Insider Deals for the Connected, Scraps for the Rest of Us

While Comer postures about draining the swamp, he’s been swimming in it for years.

  • He’s benefited from land deals, campaign cash, and sweetheart contracts tied to political allies.

  • He’s defended corporate interests over working-class families, every single time it counts.

  • And when whistleblowers or watchdog groups ask real questions about his dealings? Silence.

The man talks like he’s fighting corruption. The truth? He’s just privatizing it.

The Hypocrisy Is the Point

Let’s not forget: James Comer built his career bashing “big government” while collecting government paychecks and overseeing government money. He rails against “welfare abuse” while sitting silent on farm subsidies, tax loopholes, and corporate handouts for his donors.

He claims to defend Kentucky values while allying himself with billionaires, corporate lobbyists, and right-wing culture warriors. He says he cares about rural America — but you won’t see him at your local clinic when it’s closing down.

He says he’s all about transparency but has refused to answer for his own backroom dealings.

James Comer doesn’t hate Washington. He just hates when he’s not the one pulling the strings.

Comer Doesn’t Speak for Us

Here’s what Comer doesn’t get: Rural Kentuckians aren’t stupid. We see what’s happening. We see the hospitals shutting down, the opioid crisis raging, the roads crumbling, and our jobs getting shipped off or replaced by gig work that doesn’t pay enough to live.

While Comer plays games in Washington, we’re left holding the bag.

Kentucky deserves representation, not a reality show. We deserve leadership rooted in service - not power, not profit, not press conferences. And we sure as hell don’t need another career politician talking down to us from a marble building while doing the bidding of millionaires.

📢 Time’s Up, Congressman Comer

James Comer may be good at generating headlines, but he’s failed at delivering results. His legacy won’t be truth or reform. It’ll be political theater, hypocrisy, and a long record of serving himself while the rest of us get left behind.

We're not buying it anymore.
